IMPORTANT INFORMATION
A scammer is targeting credit/debit cards and describing the transaction as either Thornton Riverbend Holiday Park or G’day Thornton.
These transactions seem to be affecting people in the Newcastle area.
We’ve attempted to report this to the Newcastle police. They advise that the victims must lodge a report – they cannot act on the information we can provide.
If you have a charge that you don’t recognise:
- Please contact your bank immediately & dispute it. Banks should reverse the charge while they investigate.
- Please cancel and replace your card.
If your bank won’t assist contact AFCA 1800 931 687 and lodge a complaint.

As we are not the “victim” we are unable to do more.
Your bank is the best place to start – they can follow the money back to the scammers account.
